The Hope for Hollie Foundation is a charity we love working with here at Furniche as it was close to home. After having someone close with Niemann Pick Type C, we feel the best way to help is to lend a helping hand in the best way possible.
What is Niemann Pick Type C?
NP-C is a rare genetic disease that can be inherited; it can affect both children and adults. Someone with NP-C cannot process cholesterol and other fatty lipids effectively. This can accumulate and affect the brain and other major organs. In the UK there are currently only 100 cases with only 1000 known cases worldwide.
What is The Hope for Hollie Foundation
The Hope for Hollie Foundation is a wonderful charity that was launched by the Carter family back in 2007 after their daughter Hollie received her diagnoses of Niemann Pick Type C.
The charity works towards helping families of those who have been diagnosed to provide support, fund research into the genetic condition and increase awareness as its something many people are unaware of.
